About us

The Hungarian Council of New South Wales is a community organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Hungarian culture and identity in Australia.

Our members represent multiple generations — from those who arrived after 1956 to young families and Australian-born children of Hungarian heritage. What connects us is our language, culture, history, and shared sense of belonging.

We believe that Hungarian identity is not only about heritage — it is about living connection.

The Council was established to create unity among Hungarian organizations across New South Wales and to provide a collective voice for the Hungarian community.

Over the years, we have organized commemorations, cultural programs, family events, and community initiatives that celebrate our heritage and strengthen relationships among our members.

Our goal is not only to preserve the past but to build a vibrant, active, and welcoming Hungarian community for generations to come.

A strong, active, and united Hungarian community in New South Wales where every generation feels at home.
